Hello.
Bonjour.
Hola.

I’m Edison, an industrial designer with a certificate in UX/UI design. I’m naturally curious and always observing, and for me, design is more than a profession — it’s a lifestyle and a way of thinking.

My Design Journey

• 2004 –Saviv Publicidad S.A

Bogota - Colombia

After completing my degree in Industrial Design and gaining hands-on experience working alongside my father, I began my first professional role as a designer at Saviv Publicidad. There, I was responsible for 3D product design while collaborating closely with the graphic design team to enhance client branding through typography, photography, and visual communication. This experience allowed me to gain deep insight into production processes and marketing strategies. Additionally, I honed my graphic design skills, contributing to one of the company’s most important offerings: high-quality commercial print materials.

• 2006 – Lead Designer, Inbima S.A.

Bogota - Colombia

In 2006, I embraced new challenges by joining Inbima S.A. as Lead Designer. This role allowed me to further develop my leadership and management skills. I was responsible for establishing the design process, defining the art direction, and overseeing the design team. My main project involved serving as the principal designer for the Sony PlayStation account, one of the company’s most important clients. For this client, I designed exhibition furniture for PlayStation consoles, games, and accessories, carefully studying the brand’s visual and communication guidelines to ensure that my designs aligned perfectly with their identity.

• 2010- Maderfull Diseño SAS.

Bogota - Colombia

A new chapter began when I joined Maderfull as Design Team Manager. I led projects in branding, art direction, and product design, guiding a multidisciplinary team through creative and technical challenges.
This role allowed me to strengthen my leadership skills and broaden my vision of design, from concept to production.
During my four years at Maderfull, I collaborated with major clients such as Henkel (Schwarzkopf, Igora, etc.), where I designed store displays and furniture for hair salons, and Compass Group Services, for whom I created interior concepts for restaurants and coffee shops.

• 2014 – Arrival in Canada

We decided to move to Canada in search of new experiences and opportunities. Motivated by curiosity and the desire to grow, I began studying French to improve my communication skills and better understand the local culture.

• 2017 - ADI Art design International

Saint-Hubert - Quebec - Canada

My first professional experience as a designer in Canada. My main goal was to improve existing products and develop new ones that aligned with market needs. In parallel, I collaborated with the marketing team, creating graphic materials, photography, and managing social media, especially Instagram.

I also contributed to the creation and redesign of company websites, analyzing customer needs and behaviors, defining the information architecture, and collaborating closely with external partners during the development phase.

These six years were incredibly valuable, allowing me to strengthen my professional skills, cultural understanding, and communication abilities within a new working environment.

• 2020 - Covid-19

The transition to remote work during the pandemic sparked a deep curiosity in me about how digital experiences shape our daily lives. What began as a necessity soon became a passion — understanding users, improving interactions, and creating meaningful, accessible, and sustainable digital products.

• 2022 - UX Designer

I decided to formalize this path by completing a UX/UI Design certificate, combining my creative background with user-centered methodologies. This step marked the beginning of a new professional chapter focused on empathy, design systems, and continuous learning.

• 2023 – UX/UI Designer at the Ministry of Health of Québec

I became a UX/UI Designer for the Ministry of Health of Québec, where I joined the digital transformation team and contributed to key projects aimed at improving how citizens access and use healthcare platforms and applications.
Understanding users was always my priority. I conducted workshops, interviews, and created user personas, while analyzing secondary data and participating in citizen consultations with real patients to better understand their experiences and needs.

I collaborated with various teams — from internal stakeholders to development partners — ensuring that every solution was both functional and user-centered.
This was a rich and rewarding experience that significantly strengthened my UX research, collaboration, and design skills.

• 2024 - Centre Dentaire Fairmount

Today, I work at Centre Dentaire Fairmount with the design team, creating a digital platform from scratch. This experience allows me to apply all my UX skills—understanding customer behaviors, identifying pain points, and uncovering needs

Professional Background

I’m a UX/UI designer with extensive experience shaping digital experiences, primarily in the public sector. My journey started in industrial and graphic design, which gave me a strong foundation in visual communication and problem-solving. Today, I specialize in creating interfaces and experiences that are both functional and engaging, blending research, creativity, and empathy to meet user needs.

Creativity & Culture

Creativity has always been at the heart of my work. I draw inspiration from art, architecture, photography, and the rich textures of everyday life. Coupled with a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, this perspective allows me to craft designs that resonate on a human level, bridging functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Roots & Vision

My roots in design shape the way I approach every project: with curiosity, precision, and a user-first mindset. My vision is to create digital experiences that not only solve problems but also delight users, making technology intuitive, inclusive, and visually compelling.
